The Journal
Our editorial approach
The Journal exists to make supplements and everyday wellness easier to understand, not to sell you more than you need.
Who writes it
Articles are written and maintained by the SupplementMe Editorial Team. We are not doctors, nutritionists or medical professionals, and nothing on the Journal is medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or managing a health condition, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new supplement.
How we write it
Every article is written in plain English and checked against peer-reviewed research, official UK guidance (such as the NHS and the Food Standards Agency) and recognised international bodies (such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, EFSA and the EMA). Every source we rely on is listed and linked at the bottom of the article it appears in, under “Sources & Further Reading”, so you can check it yourself.
What our sources are, and are not, for
Our references explain the science and regulation behind a topic. They are not evidence that a specific SupplementMe product will produce a specific result for you. Supplements affect people differently, and we do not make claims our products cannot back up.
Keeping it current
Guidance and evidence change over time. Articles show both a Published and a Last updated date, and we revisit them as regulation or research moves on.
Something look wrong?
